Dieser emotionale historische Roman von Millie Bobby Brown wird mir sicher noch lange im Gedächtnis bleiben.
In “Neunzehn Stufen” entführt uns die Autorin auf eine gefühlvolle und teils tragische Reise in das London des Zweiten Weltkriegs. Die Geschichte beginnt mit dem Kennenlernen der Protagonistin Nellie Morris und ihrer Familie und wie sie ihr Leben in diesen harten Zeiten bestreiten. Nellie schloss ich sofort ins Herz.
Bei der eher zufälligen Begegnung zwischen Nellie und Ray, einem mutigen jungen Piloten der Royal Air Force erblüht eine wunderschöne und zarte Liebesgeschichte, die ich in ihrem unaufgeregten und unschuldigen Tempo sehr mochte.
Während London von Bombenangriffen erschüttert wird und die Welt um sie herum in Dunkelheit zu versinken droht, halten Nellie und Ray unbeirrbar an ihrem Versprechen fest, sich gegenseitig zu lieben und zu beschützen…doch das Schicksal hat andere Pläne.
Was diese Geschichte so außergewöhnlich macht, ist nicht nur die epische Kulisse des Zweiten Weltkriegs, sondern auch die zutiefst berührenden Charaktere, die uns mit ihrer Tapferkeit und ihrer Hingabe ans Herz wachsen.
Die Autorin webt geschickt historische Fakten mit einer mitreißenden Liebesgeschichte zusammen, wodurch der Leser nicht nur in die turbulenten Ereignisse des Krieges eintaucht, sondern auch Zeuge einer zeitlosen Romanze wird, die die Macht der Liebe über das Grauen des Krieges triumphieren lässt.
Fazit:
