Wer hat nicht alles schon bei einem Buch oder einem Film gesagt, „Hey, dieses Szenario hätte ich locker überlebt, weil ich das viel cleverer angestellt hätte!“? Vermutlich schon jeder! Aber was passiert, wenn diese scheinbare Überheblichkeit jemand an dir austestet?
Mit „Böse Mädchen sterben nicht“ hat Christina Henry es endlich wieder geschafft, mich zu begeistern. Inzwischen habe ich alle Bücher von ihr gelesen und nach den Alice-Chroniken folgte eine lange Durststrecke aus mehr oder minder großen Enttäuschungen.
Diese Geschichte aus einem Mix aus Krimi, Dystopie und Horrorelementen konnte mich allerdings vollkommen abholen. Drei Genres miteinander zu verbinden und alle Erzählstränge am Ende zusammenzuführen fand ich aufregend neu und überaus erfrischend. Henrys Schreibstil war wie immer unverkennbar und eingängig. Diesmal gab es keine aufgedrückten sozialkritischen Beiträge oder Logikfehler. Einzig eine kleine Diskussion über Schwangerschaftsinkontinenz fand ich absolut unnötig und irgendwie sonderbar. Allerdings tut dies keinen Abriss, es dennoch zu einem Fünf-Sterne-Buch zu machen.
Fazit:
Wer ein Fan von den oben genannten Genres ist, dem kann ich diese spannungsgeladene Geschichte absolut ans Herz legen. Als abgeschlossene Erzählung kann sie unabhängig von anderen Christina Henry Büchern gelesen werden.
